General Directions
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. TAKE THIS MEDICINE with food or milk. Medical Uses
This medicine is an analgesic, barbiturate, and stimulant combination used to treat tension headaches.

Side Effects
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, indigestion, bloody or black stools, nausea, vomiting, or gas. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

Precautions
DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or any other medicine used to treat pain, fever, swelling, or arthritis. IF YOU EXPERIENCE difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately. Do not take any more doses of this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take this medicine for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Exceeding the recommended dose or taking this medicine for longer than prescribed may be habit-forming. AVOID ALCOHOL while you are using this medicine. This medicine will add to the effects of alcohol and other depressants. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to this medicine. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE stomach bleeding. If you drink alcohol on a daily basis, do not take this medicine without first discussing it with your doctor. Alcohol use combined with this medicine may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN TAKING BIRTH CONTROL PILLS, this medicine may decrease the effectiveness of your birth control pills. To prevent pregnancy, use an additional form of birth control while you are taking this medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.

Drug Interactions
Do not take aspirin / butalbital / caffeine if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days. Dangerous sedation could result. Aspirin / butalbital / caffeine may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives (used to treat insomnia), pain relievers, anxiety medicines, and muscle relaxants. Tell your doctor about all medicines that you are taking, and do not take any medicine unless your doctor approves. Dangerous side effects may occur if aspirin is taken with any of the following medicines: oral anticoagulants probenecid or sulfinpyrazone , nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, Nuprin, others), ketoprofen (Orudis, Orudis KT, Oruvail), and naproxen (Naprosyn, Anaprox, Aleve); other salicylates (forms of aspirin) such as choline salicylate and magnesium salicylate; steroids such as prednisone (Deltasone), prednisolone (Prelone, Pediapred, others), methylprednisolone (Medrol, others), dexamethasone (Decadron), and others; or insulin and oral antidiabetic drugs such as glipizide (Glucotrol) and glyburide (Micronase, Diabeta, Glynase). Many other medicines contain aspirin, especially over-the-counter pain, fever, cold, and allergy medications. Too much aspirin can be very dangerous. Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with aspirin / butalbital / caffeine. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines.

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose of this medication. Wait the prescribed amount of time before taking your next dose.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.

Notes
Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Butalbital may cause drowsiness or dizziness. If you experience drowsiness or dizziness, avoid these activities. Avoid alcohol. Alcohol taken during therapy with aspirin / butalbital / caffeine can increase the risk of stomach bleeding and can increase drowsiness and dizziness. Never take more aspirin / butalbital / caffeine than is prescribed for you. If your pain is not being adequately treated, talk to your doctor. Avoid other over-the-counter and prescription products that contain aspirin. Too much aspirin could be dangerous. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any over-the-counter preparations. Store this medicine at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat, moisture, and light. KEEP THIS AND ALL MEDICATION OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN - Store in safety containers or secure area.
Do not take acetaminophen and hydrocodone if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days. Dangerous side effects could result. The most serious interactions affecting acetaminophen and hydrocodone are with those drugs that also cause sedation. Numerous drugs may lead to dangerous sedation if taken with acetaminophen and hydrocodone: Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over the counter medicines. Many other drugs contain acetaminophen, especially over-the-counter pain, fever, cold, and allergy medications.
